This instruction shows how to add links to a page so that users can visit other Web sites directly from the Church site. The example we'll use is adding a link to the Harpswell Community Nursery School's site from the page on our site that introduces it.
1. Log into elijahkelloggchurch.org so that you can make changes.
2. From the main menu, browse to the Community -> Harpswell Community Nursery School page.
3. Edit that page, which should show you something like this (don't forget to select "Enable rich-text" at the bottom of this frame):
4. To add a link from the text "HCNS" to the actual Web site http://www.harpswellnurseryschool.org, first highlight the text HCNS in the above frame.
5. Now select, in the top toolbar, the icon that looks like a chain link (highlighted in the above display). That should open up a window that looks like this:
6. Now type the URL http://www.harpswellnurseryschool.org into the box titled "Link URL" and select Open in New Window in the box titled "Target". It should look like this when you're done.
This defines the Web site where the User will be redirected when he/she selects the word HCNS in the text, and it also will open that Web site in a separate window on his/her screen.
7. Now hit "Insert" at the bottom of this frame.
8. Finally, hit "Save" at the bottom of this edited page.
9. You should now be able to view the page and see that the linked text (HCNS) has turned blue, so that the user will recognize that it is a link.
10, To be sure your link works properly, be sure to try it out and convince yourself that it takes you to the desired page.
11. Don't forget to log out.
